How can send files to whom?
The File Transfer Appliance works as an extension of your email system, with a similar security model — your user can send files to anyone, external, or non-local users can only send files to your users. This is the default configuration but this can be changed on a individual user basis as required.
Can I manually delete files / retract a sent message?
Yes, you can delete any file that hasn't yet being downloaded? An administrator can delete files for any user.
Can I use the File Transfer Appliance to replace FTP?
Most likely — most people use FTP as a temporary storage where someone can drop a file for someone else to pick it up later, the File Transfer Appliance will be able to replace FTP for you perfectly, both for sending and receiving files.
If you currently use FTP to store files that users download again and again, the File Transfer Appliance will likely not be able replace that part of your file distribution as it wasn't built as a Document Management System.
Can I remove any AllardSoft branding?
Yes — if you purchase a license, the File Transfer Appliance can be brandable with your own companies look and feel. It's possible to upload your own logotype, setting the colors and even override the entire style sheet if that is desirable.
Can I have the interface in my own language?
Yes, currently the available locales are:
- English
- English with Australian date formats
- German
- Swedish
If you wish to translate into another language, please email support@allardsoft.com and instructions will be made available how you can contribute and add another language.
